Mayday: Ajay Devgn Puts The Final Schedule Of The Film On Hold Due To Surge In COVID-19 Cases

The surge in the number of COVID-19 cases has become a thing of concern for everyone. The number of cases is on a steady rise and just when we thought we are getting closer to normalcy, we were reminded that the virus is far from being gone. This has also affected the entertainment industry. Shoots have been halted after celebs and people on the sets of several films tested positive. Release dates have been pushed, once again. Amidst this, Ajay Devgn has decided to stall the final schedule of his film, Mayday.

According to a report in Mid Day, the final schedule, which was to be shot in Doha, has been put on hold keeping in mind the current situation. A source quoted by the daily said, “Given the nature of the thriller, it was to be shot at various airports across India. Since that was not a possibility during the pandemic, Ajay had sets of different airports built in Hyderabad to film the required portions. For the last leg, he had handpicked a slim crew that would leave for Qatar and shoot in a bio-bubble. But he has done a rethink after the cases have seen a spike in the past few weeks. For the actor, the health of his cast and crew is the top priority. His resolve was further strengthened with the Middle-East country levying strict restrictions on international travel.”

The Mumbai leg of the shoot has been almost complete and looks like the film's team will head to the middle east only when things get better and travel restrictions are lifted. Well, that seems to be the smartest decision right now, isn't it?
