Mr Lele: Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor And Bhumi Pednekar’s Comic Thriller Put On Hold

Mr Lele’s first look was unveiled by the team on January 13^th. The much-awaited comic thriller will mark the third collaboration between Varun Dhawan, Shashank Khaitan and Karan Johar after their hit rom-coms Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. The film, which also features Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, was supposed to go on floors this month and was slated to hit theatres on 1^st January 2021.

However, according to the latest report in Mumbai Mirror, Mr Lele has been put on hold. While the buzz suggests that there was an issue in the script, a source close to the development revealed, “Shashank had begun work on the pre production, but the actors’ dates aren't aligning. A new plan for Mr Lele will be worked out at a later stage.”

Well, this does not come as a big surprise as the three actors have their kitties full with many scripts at the moment. Varun recently wrapped up the shoot for Coolie No. 1 and will soon begin work on military officer Arun Khetarpal’s biopic, whereas Janhvi is busy gearing up for Gunjan Saxena’s biopic, Roohi Afzana and Dostana 2. Bhumi, on the other hand, is busy with Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare and Durgavati. However, we are sure things will soon work out as Varun had stated that he is extremely excited to explore the unique comedy thriller genre.
