Mrunal Thakur Joins The Shahid Kapoor Starrer Jersey Remake!

Shahid Kapoor had long been confirmed in the remake of the Telugu film, Jersey. Shahid will reprise the role of Nani and it was said that Rashmika Mandana will make her Bollywood debut with the film. However, after her exit, there were talks that Mrunal Thakur might step in. Today, the actress herself has confirmed that she will reprise the role of Shraddha Srinath in the film.

Talking to TOI, the actress said,

"I'm super excited to play the lead opposite Shahid in 'Jersey'. When I saw the original film I was bowled over by its passionate emotional journey. It felt like I had lived a full lifetime of experiences in those two plus hours. So deep was the affect of the film on me that I couldn't get it out of my heart the whole night so I immediately watched it again the next day, I can't wait for Hindi audiences to experience a similar impact!"

Well, Shahid has already started his practice to nail the role of a cricketer. His look from the pitch had gone viral. The film is scheduled to release on 28^th August, 2020 and will be directed by Goutam Tinnanuri, who also directed the original. Apart from Jersey, Mrunal has one more sports film in her kitty, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's Toofan alongside Farhan Akhtar.
