    Netflix Announces 10 New Original Films With Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar And We Are Bubbling With Excitement

    Its only been a few years since Netflix arrived in India and the platform is already acing the originals game. Well, if you’re already under the spell of shows like Sacred Games and Delhi Crime or films like Lust Stories and Love Per Square Foot, then there is some exciting news for you as Netflix has announced 10 original films in India. With some exciting collaborations with biggies of the entertainment world like Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Farah Khan these films have been calendared to release between April and December 2020. Here are some of the titles that are currently underway.

    Ghost Stories – After Lust Stories, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee are one more time uniting for an anthology of horror stories.

    Mrs. Serial Killer – Moving away from the kind of dramas that we have seen her make in Bollywood, Farah Khan is producing a murder mystery titled Mrs.Serial Killer for Netflix. The film will be a story of a wife trying to prove her husband’s innocence by committing a murder.

    House Arrest  - Shashanka Ghosh and Sumit Basu are co directing a thriller, House Arrest. Basu described the story as, “a man — trapped in his own fears — who locks himself at home, only to find that while he can restrict his interaction with the world, he can't keep the world from entering his domain.”

    Freedom - Dibakaar Banerjee’s Freedom is“the story of an Indian family interwoven with the personal, ideological and sexual history of India and how desire plays a common role in each.”

    Serious Men – The adaptation of Manu Joseph’s book by the same title, the film helmed by Sudhir Mishra will be the story of a chawl based clerk working for international scientists, who lies and plots in order to prosper.

    Maska  - Maska is the story of a millennial who dreams of becoming an actor. A summer romance girl who has it all worked out helps him realize the difference between dreams and delusions. The film is being helmed by Seher Aly Latif and Shivani Saran's Mutant Films.

    Yeh Ballet – Screenwriter and filmmaker Sooni Taraporewala who has worked on films like the Oscar-nominated Salaam Bombay, The Namesake, and Mississippi Masala is directing a film where two boys discovering ballet.

    Kaali Khuhi  - Filmmaker Terrie Samundra is making directing a film on female infanticide titled Kaali Khuli.

    Guilty – Dharmatic, the digital wing of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is making the film Guilty. About the film, Karan was quoted saying. “Guilty is a film that explores a personal, powerful subject where a small-town girl takes on the structures that protect perpetrators of rape. Ruchi Narain is helming the film as a director, and we at Dharmatic, could not be more excited than to see her vision come alive across 190 countries on Netflix.”

    Class of ’83 – Being produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s banner Red Chillies Entertainment, this one is the story about a policeman-turned-trainer and his students.
