EXCLUSIVE: No One Will Ever Want Me In Their Family As A ‘Bahu’ Anymore, Says Shrenu Parikh!

Ek Bhram - Sarvagun Sampanna is Star Plus’ newest addition to the tube and playing the lead is the Ishqbaaaz actress Shrenu Parikh. Shrenu, who was present at the launch of the show that took place in the courtyard of a 1000-year-old Sahasra Bahu temple, colloquially called “SaasBahu Mandir” thinks that it is always better to change every once in a while, and the fact that she is doing a negative character right after her sweet role in Ishqbaaaz will actually make her fans appreciate her even more. Quipped she, “I think, a change is always welcome and this is what I wanted for my own satisfaction, which is why I picked up Jahnvi’s role. It is so different from the character I played in Ishqbaaaz and I am sure, my fans too will like the change and the challenge that I have accepted.” Shrenu also stressed on the fact about how her fans, have always been “loving and kind” to her and that’s why she feels that they will continue to love her.

However, what is extremely apparent about Indian television and its lead actress is, they all are very prim and proper. In fact, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call them the epitome of “Sanskaars”. Therefore, when a show comes with its lead actress transforming into this evil, scheming woman; it is evident that the audiences will be taken aback, but Shrenu doesn’t quite see things that way. She thinks playing an anti-heroine will make her big; and that it is much like the time when Shah Rukh Khan played an anti-hero in the film Baazigar! She explained, “Anti-heroes or heroines are not new to the audiences, if that would’ve been the case, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Baazigar would have never made it big. I feel this is going to change my image and I am going to garner more fans.” She further stated, her character Jahnvi seems to be the very prim and proper Bahu but she isn’t and that enigma is what makes the show. “The family seems to be perfect, and everything looks hunky-dory on the exterior, but in reality, it is not and there is a reason behind it all!”

Even though in the show Shrenu would be playing a married woman, in reality, she is unmarried! We all know, what reach and impact television has on the mass, so when it boils down to Shrenu’s playing a negative vamp or her transforming into an absolute menace maker in the family just for entertainment’s sake, it is perfectly fine. But, what if her future in-laws see the show and form an opinion about her? What if they think, this is the way the real Shrenu Parikh is? Well, in reality, the Gujju girl too is terrified at the very thought of it. “I am so scared because of this! I think after watching the show no one will ever want to make me a Bahu anymore.” On the other hand, she feels, that if it, in fact, comes to pass, it would mean she is a good actor. “It is great actually if it happens because it would mean that I have done justice to my character, but in real life, Aisi Nahi Hu Main (I am not like this).

Well, we at Desimartini.com wish Shrenu all the very best for her series.
