Not Janhvi Kapoor But Ananya Panday To Romance Vijay Deverakonda In Fighter!

It had been reported some time back that Janhvi Kapoor would pair up with her on-screen crush, Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda in a film. Called Fighter, it would have marked her debut into Telugu films. But looks like the tables have turned and instead of romancing her, the Arjun Reddy and Dear Comrade star would now romance Ananya Panday.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the makers were looking for a fresh pair. However, a source said that it was Ananya who was being considered and not Janhvi. The source said,

“Puri Jagannadh is directing the film and Vijay plays the lead in Fighter. The film goes on floors in Mumbai from today. A lot of the portions of the movie will be shot in the city. The team was looking for a younger generation actress to be cast opposite Vijay in the actioner. Apparently, Karan Johar plans to present the film's Hindi version. Ananya Panday will romance Vijay in the film. They needed a fresh pairing and plan to release the film pan-India in several languages. They approached Ananya for the film and she really liked the concept. It's a fresh love-story which is loaded with action."
