Here's When Padmavati Should & Should Not Release

Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s Padmavati is yet to be cleared by the Censor Board of Film Certification and all eyes are set on the probable release date that the movie can get in 2018.

While it’s undisputedly clear that Padmavati will definitely see a massive footfall at the theatres due to its controversy and heavy weight star cast ( Deepika Padukone , Ranveer Singh , Shahid Kapoor ), the question is when will the movie release?

January 2018 releases include Udanchhoo on January 5, 1921, Kalakaandi and Mukkabaaz on January 12, Aiyaari and Padman on January 26. This implies that three Fridays in January are booked and Padmavati will definitely not release on 26^th Jan. SLB won’t want any clashes with a big film, considering Padman has huge potential to rake moolahs. In all likelihood, Padmavati won’t be releasing in the first fifteen days of January. The only date that SLB might get is the 19^th of January 2018.

If Padmavati doesn’t get a January release date, then February 2 and 16 would be more apt. Rani Mukerji ’s Hichki is releasing on February 23 along with John Abraham ’s Parmanu. February 9 is booked for Anushka Sharma ’s Pari and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. SLB won’t want Deepika to clash with Rani or Anushka.

So in a nutshell we might see Padmavati in the theatres on any of the three dates: Jan 19, Feb 2 or Feb 16.

After all the drama and controversy around the delay of Padmavati, it would be a sigh of relief if this magnum opus manages a smooth release at the box office.
