Alia Bhatt has made quite the ripples in the music industry with her debut music video ‘Prada’  with Doorbeen who was the man behind the viral ‘Lamberghini’ song. While everyone has been appreciating Alia and the song, Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat have accused the song of practicing plagiarism.

After a Twitter user pointing out the similarities between ‘Prada’ and the Pakistani song Gore Rang Ka Zamana from 'Vital Signs' album, Mehwish has lambasted Alia, the makers of the song and in fact the whole of Bollywood for the same. She wrote, “I find this strange. On the one hand, Bollywood vilifies Pakistan at every opportunity they get. On the other, they continue to steal our songs. Copyright violation and royalty payments obviously mean nothing to them.” Check out the song here:

Mehwish did not stop here. She went on to add, “Now can we wake up, smell the coffee and see Bollywood's agenda for what it is? Shah Rukh Khan, be patriotic, nobody is stopping you - just don't do it at the expense of vilifying us.”

Previously in an article written for CNN, Mehwish talked about Bollywood’s treatment of Pakistani artists. The actress wrote, “Indian PM Modi has arguably co-opted and weaponized the country's film industry. It's difficult, often impossible, for Pakistani actors to find work in India.”

“Pakistan is a Muslim majority nation and Islamophobia is a top-down industry in India: at the top, hyper-nationalist films, songs, and slogans teach the masses to hate. At the grassroots, Muslims have been killed for so-called crimes like eating beef,” added Hayat.
