Pratik Gandhi roped in to play Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy in his biopic?

Partik Gandhi after starring as stock broker Harshad Mehta in Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, has reportedly signed a second biographical drama. The actor who became an overnight sensation after the web series is said to have given his nod to play Andra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in his biopic.

The film is touted to be the sequel to the successful biographical film Yatra according to many reports, which was based on former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s father.

Filmmaker Mahi V. Raghava, according to a Deccan Chronicle report sees Jagan Mohan Reddy’s story as an underdog tale and the film will narrate his story from the time before his father’s tragic demise to him sweeping the election and becoming an inspirational leader.

The report claims that Pratik Gandhi was approached for the part by the filmmaker after extensive research to find the right fit. The actor has apparently expressed his excitement for the project which will be made as a pan-Indian film.

Mahi V. Raghava had announced the sequel to Yatra after the success of film in 2019. Last year actor Nagarjuna was reported to be considered to play YS Jagan Mohan Reddy too.

An official confirmation on the cast is awaited.
