Priyanka Chopra Pays Tribute To Rishi Kapoor, Says ‘Versatility Of This Genial Man Will Never Be Experienced Again’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been close to the Kpaoor. Not only has she shared screen with Ranbir Kapoor in films like Anjaana Anjaani and Barfi, but have also shared screen with Rishi Kapoor in Agnepath. She had visited RIshi Kapoor in the U.S too, when he was there for his cancer treatment. When Rishi Kapoor passed away, she decided to dedicate an entire piece on him in Times Magazine.

Writing about the late actor, she remembered how he was different even though he was a part of the first filmy family of India. True, he has a legacy of his own and with his death, it was like an era came to an end. She wrote, “His effervescence and flamboyance instantly set him apart. He was a hero who could feel without being maudlin. He was mischievous, rebellious, passionate—and he made falling in love seem so easy and so within our grasp. What made Rishi Kapoor’s love different? It had all the passion of a Shakespearean hero with a generous dollop of innocence added in.His charisma was in his extraordinary smile, one that made his fans go weak in the knees. And when he danced, he made us all want to jump up and join him.”

Not just did Priyanka further write that the world grieves together with his family, but also added that he will be an inspiration for the generations to come. She sunned it up in the words of Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker and said the show must go on and wrote, “thank you for the magic, the memories and your candid heart. I’m so grateful for having had the opportunity of knowing you personally as well—your candor, your laughter, your zest for life. That’s how I’ll always remember you. Farewell, Chintu uncle. Hindi cinema will never be the same.”
