R. Madhavan Casts Apprehension On The Possibility Of A Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein Sequel: Many Things Did Go Wrong

Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein remains one of the most popular romantic films in Bollywood post the millennium. The film that marked R. Madhavan’s debut in Bollywood was unfortunately not as great an experience for the makers as it was for the audiences and somewhere there lies the reason why the movie has not gotten a sequel despite the demands of millions of fans.

As the film marked its 19th anniversary on October 20, the film’s leading man Madhavan cast apprehensions on the possibility for a sequel. Speaking to Spotboye, the actor who is said to have his own set of issues with director Gautam Menon said, “I don’t want to get into what went wrong. But yes, many things did go wrong. All of us worked really hard on the film. 19 years later Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil  Mein is still among the most favourite  films of my repertoire.”

He however doesn’t really despise the idea of a sequel being made and says that if one eventually happens he would want the film to pick up the story from where it left off 19 years ago. “But is a sequel possible now? For that to happen, all of us have to be on the same page. I’d love to take the story forward from where we left it off 19 years ago," he added.
