    R Madhavan reveals he was Soha Ali Khan's first on-screen kiss and he couldn't stop thinking about Saif Ali Khan's reaction

    R Madhavan has been a part of some pretty memorable films in Bollywood. While actor’s debut film with Saif Ali Khan Rehnaa Hai Tere Dil Mein turned out to be a fan favorite which fans still love, his starred opposite Saif’s sister Soha Ali Khan in another iconic film Rang De Basanti. The actor having played Saif’s rival in his first ever Hindi film reveals he was scared kissing Soha Ali Khan for a scene in Rang De Basanti.

    The actor revealed the fun fact in Rang De Basanti filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's autobiography, The Stranger In The Mirror. Madhavan played an Indian airforce pilot who is Soha’s love interest in the film. The actor recalled that one of the first scenes he shot for the film was the kiss with Soha and said all he could think during was about Saif socking his face.

    Madhavan sharing his first person account of filming the proposal scene in Rang De Basanti wrote, “The only thing I could think of was Saif (Soha's brother, with whom I had worked before in a tense movie - Madhavan's debut - as rivals) socking my face. But I had to establish that I was an ideal boyfriend. This was probably her first on-screen kiss as well.”

    A landmark film in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s filmography, Rang De Basanti starred Aamir Khan, Soha Khan, Siddharth, Alice Patten, Kunal Kapoor and Atul Kulkarni apart from Madhavan. The filmmaker also revealed that he had approached Shah Rukh Khan for Madhavan’s role Ajay Singh Rathod in the film.
