Rajkummar Rao And Mouni Roy Open Up About Ageism Debate Surrounding Taapsee And Bhumi In Saand Ki Aankh

The social media was divided and there was a lot of debate when Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar were chosen to play the octogenarian shooter dadis Chandro and Prakashi Tomar on-screen for Saand Ki Aankh. Many people were of the opinion that the roles must have been done by aged actresses instead of piling up prosthetics on Taapsee and Bhumi to look aged.

Recently, stars of Made In China, Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy, whose film is clashing with Saand Ki Ankh along with Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 2 at the box office on Diwali, opened up about the ageism debate. Rajkummar stood up I support of his colleagues and said, “If the actors can convince me with whatever age they are playing and I know you're talking about Saand Ki Aankh and if I'm convinced by these two ladies who are playing this role, it's okay. It just has to be convincing.”

Mouni Roy added, “The movie has not released. I'm not in a position to say things since I haven't yet seen it. Right now probably, it's unfair and we should keep the debate for when it's released. You need to see their roles and how they have performed first. Before that, judging someone isn't right.”

No matter how competitive a place Bollywood gets, it is nice to see actors standing up and defending other actors.
