Ramayan Actor Sunil Lahri Opens Up About Being A ‘Youth Icon’ And ‘India’s Crush’

One of the biggest hits of television, Ramanand Sagar’s 1987 masterpiece Ramayan made a comeback to our screens once again during the COVID-19 pandemic, after shoots of upcoming episodes of on-going shows was stalled due to the nationwide lockdown. Doordarshan emerged as a true hero and fans had a gala time watching the rerun with their families. Lead actors Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhalia and Sunil Lahri became the talk of the town once again and their fan base on social media went through the roof.

That’s not all! The very handsome Sunil, who portrayed the role of Lakshman, became India’s crush once again. Speaking about the same to E-Times, the actor shared that he is getting different messages from his fans who are showering him with love. He is extremely happy that they liked his performance and feels great about the same. He went on state, “The younger fans have sent me messages stating that I am a youth icon and crush of India. This was very surprising for me and I had never expected that.”

The actor went on to add, “Of course in 1987, when it was released for the first time, I had more female fans than the male ones and this time too same thing happened.” Well, Sunil’s son Krish, who is an aspiring actor, is following in his father’s footsteps. The heartthrob recently became an internet sensation and fans are eagerly waiting to see him shine on the big screen.
