Ranbir Kapoor And Alia Bhatt's Wedding Likely To Postpone To Next Year Due To Rishi Kapoor’s Demise

Bollywood stars, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have been home quarantined just like the rest of us.

The wedding discussion of the lovebirds, Ranbir and Alia is still a hot topic on every media outlet. Both Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were all set to tie the knot by the end of December 2020. The wedding celebrations were expected to kick off from 21st December 2020 onwards

However, due to the global coronavirus pandemic and the very unfortunate and unexpected demise of Ranbir Kapoor’s dad, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, the wedding bells will probably not ring this year and instead will be postponed to the next year.

Rajeev Masand’s column in the Open Magazine suggests, some close friends of couple asked them to postpone their wedding to next year as this year would be a bit difficult, given the fact that social distancing guidelines have to be in place.  And also, due to the back to back unfortunate happenings, the Kapoor family is in no mood to host any grand event this year.

Moreover, not only will Ranbir-Alia be postponing their wedding, actor, Varun Dhawan and his girlfriend Natasha Dalal, who were also geared up for their wedding this year, will have to postpone their destination wedding in Thailand due to the outbreak of pandemic.

On the professional front, Ranbir and Alia have collaborated for the first time with Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra', which was also slated for release on 4th December, 2020. It remains to be seen if the movie's release date will be impacted by the pandemic. The shooting of 'Brahmastra' was halted due to shutdown which has ultimately reduced the changes of releasing the movie this year.
