Ranbir Kapoor Might Join Alia Bhatt For SLB’s Gangubai

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are probably the most talked-about couple in Bollywood right now. Their palpable chemistry does not go unnoticed when they are in public and we simply cannot wait to see these stellar actors together on-screen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. However, it looks like it is not just Ayan who wants to harness the magic of this chemistry on-screen.

Reports suggest that Sanjay Leela Bhansali might also cast Ranbir Kapoor opposite Alia Bhatt in his upcoming gangster drama based on the life of Mumbai’s legendary Gangubai Kothewali.  A source close to the development revealed, “SLB wants Ranbir Kapoor to play a small but important part in the project. Although the movie will be headlined by Alia, it has some really interesting male characters - some who are against her and some who help her in her trade. Bhansali and Ranbir seemed to have ironed their differences and when the Bajirao Mastani director approached RK for the role, he took out time to hear it out. But he is yet to take a final call on the same.”

For the uninitiated, Ranbir who had assisted Bhansali in Black and made his debut with Sawaariya under Bhansali’s direction had a fall out with his mentor post the release of his first film and the duo have never worked together in the last 12 years since Sawaariya. It is not just about Ranbir and Alia but we also hope this works out as it will also be pretty amazing to witness Ranbir collaborating with his mentor once again.
