Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera Delayed Because Of Brahmastra

Ranbir Kapoor makes every minute worth it when he comes on screen, but star sure makes us wait for it. After the blockbuster Sanju in 2018, Brahmastra was supposed to be Ranbir’s next release in 2019. However, Ayan Mukerji has pushed the release of Brahmastra to mid-2020 to give the VFX team of the film more time to get the visual effects correct.

This shuffling has not only delayed Brahmastra but Ranbir’s dacoit drama Shamshera has also been postponed for the same reason. A source close to the film revealed, “Ranbir’s dates for Shamshera were supposed to start after the completion of Brahmastra. But it seems Ayan requires more of Ranbir’s dates. Karan requested Adi for more time and Adi complied. Shamshera will now be completed in 2021.”

Of course, this means that Ranbir Kapoor will have one release in 2020 which would be Brahmastra. The film will be the first of a fantasy trilogy that is being directed by Ayan Mukerji and will bring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt together on-screen for the time. While Shamshera directed by Karan Malhotra of Agneepath fame will be Ranbir’s first dacoit drama and also his first collaboration with Vaani Kapoor of Befikre fame.
