Randeep Hooda Feels Extraction Opened Up His Global Audience; Talks About Bollywood Not Celebrating It

After winning hearts with his spectacular performances in Hindi films, the handsome and very versatile Randeep Hooda made his Hollywood debut with action thriller Extraction a year ago. Also starring heartthrob Chris Hemsworth, the supremely talented Pankaj Tripathi and Priyanshu Painyuli among others, Extraction marked Sam Hargrave’s feature directorial debut. While it received mixed reviews, it reportedly became the most watched film in streaming platform Netflix's history. Even after a year, Randeep feels it won’t be a bad idea to watch it again.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, the actor opened up about the love that his film and performance received. He shared that it felt like he went to the Olympics with India against Australia, or America, and did well. Randeep was quoted saying, “It opened up my global audience, whether it’s the media there or the audience. On the back of this movie, it released in the pandemic ground last year at this time and still all over again we are sitting at home. So it might not be a bad idea to watch it again, I might.”

Talking about how the film was not exactly celebrated, as much as expected, by Bollywood, the actor stated that he is quite used to it. He explained, “It does happen time and again, well that’s okay. Maybe they didn’t like my acting, liked my action maybe, that’s why they didn’t speak up. But yeah there is a lot of hoopla that happens you know amongst people within the industry which did not happen for this. But, hey maybe as I said before maybe you didn’t like my acting.”

Well, there are many who loved the film and are now eagerly waiting for a sequel.
