Rani Mukerji’s First Look From Mardaani 2 Is Here And It Is Reminding Us Of Ajay Devgn From Gangaajal

Rani Mukerji is back in her badass cop avatar. The sequel of Mardaani is under production and the first look of Rani as Shivani Shivaji Roy is out. She can be seen in her uniform with a stern expression on her face. The look and the expression instantly remind us of Ajay Devgn as SP Amit Kumar in Gangajaal.

The sequel of Mardaani will have Shivani, who is now the Superintend of Police who is on a chase to eliminate a 21-year-old criminal.

Mardaani, which came out in 2014 garnered widespread appreciation both by critics and audience. Apart from Rani, Tahir Raj Bhasin was also praised for his portrayal of a cold-blooded criminal engaged in human trafficking.

While Pradeep Sarkar directed the first part, the second film would be directed by debutante Gopi Puthran and is being produced by Aditya Chopra. The film is currently being shot in Jodhpur and Kota.  

Talking about the film, director Puthran said, "It's an intense one-month long schedule in Rajasthan which forms the backdrop to the story of Mardaani 2. Rani’s investigation will take her to Jaipur and Kota. Given that we are shooting in peak summer of Rajasthan, it will be physically demanding because Rani will be doing action sequences too. The entire team is thrilled to be shooting in the beautiful state of Rajasthan and we are looking forward to the love and cooperation from the people.”
