Ranveer Singh Approached To Play A Cameo In Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi? Here’s What We Know

The very talented Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are currently two of the most sought-after actors of the Hindi film industry. They have been winning hearts with their incredible performances and have proven their versatility with each character that they have portrayed. Well, after leaving the audience in awe with their chemistry in Zoya Akhtar’s blockbuster hit Gully Boy, Ranveer and Alia are all set to share the screen in two upcoming projects— Karan Johar’s period drama Takht and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited Gangubai Kathiawadi.

While the two have full-fledged roles in Takht, a report in Bollywood Hungama has revealed that Ranveer’s favorite director Sanjay has approached him to play a cameo in Alia’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. A source was quoted saying, “It’s a very powerful cameo. And Ranveer can’t say no to Sanjay Leela Bhansali…Ever! On top of that, the film has Alia Bhatt in the lead. Alia and Ranveer have shared a special rapport from the time they worked together in Gully Boy. So Ranveer has absolutely no reason to decline the offer.”

Based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Gangubai Kothewali, the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura, Gangubai Kathiawadi was scheduled to release on 11^th September this year. However, the release date was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film also features Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Shantanu Maheshwari and Vijay Raaz in prominent roles.
