    It is safe to assume that no one was expecting Zaira Wasim’s sudden decision to quit Bollywood. Despite her small age Zaira managed to wow everyone and even won a National Award for her performance in Dangal and then Secret Superstar cemented her position as one of the outstanding young talent in the industry. Thus, when she took to social media to announce her exit from Bollywood citing spiritual reasons, it came as a shock to everyone.

    The reactions to Zaira’s post have been mixed as some as hailed her choice and some have slammed her for the same. One of the latter in Raveena Tandon who took to Twitter to voice her reaction on the matter and asked her to ‘exit gracefully without demeaning it for others.” She tweeted:

    After Raveena’s tweet, she has also been trolled for calling Zaira ‘ ungrateful two-film old’ .

    For the uninitiated, Zaira Wasim of Dangal fame announced her exit from Bollywood saying ‘I am not truly happy with this identity i.e my line of work.’ She further went on to explain how the working of the industry as an ‘environment that damaged my peace, imaan and my relationship with Allah.’ Here is her full post:

    Zaira will next be seen in Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink starring Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar along with her where she will be playing the role of Aisha Chaudhary, a motivational speaker who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and succumbed to it at the age of 19. The film will obviously be her last film before she quite Bollywood for good.
