While actress Rhea Chakraborty had not attended late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s funeral, as his family did not want her there, she did visit the mortuary to see his body because she wanted closure. It was recently reported that back then, Rhea has said ‘sorry babu’ to his mortal remains. This report took the internet by storm and the actress’ words became fodder for memes. She was brutally trolled and her last words to Sushant became a joke to many.

In her latest interview with India Today, Rhea has revealed why said the words ‘sorry babu’ to Sushant’s mortal remains. She shared that her close ones asked her to not attend the funeral as she was not invited, but a friend told her to see the late actor’s body for the last time because if she didn’t, she would never get closure and would not be able to accept that he’s gone. She visited the morgue for a few seconds and her friends asked her to wait outside. She said sorry to him because he lost his life and touched his feet as a mark of respect.

Rhea further stated that today she wants to say, “I am sorry that your death has been made into a joke. I am sorry that your last memory is not of your good work, intelligence or your charity.”
