Rhea Chakraborty's Absence From Chehre Poster, Promotions Doesn't Go Unnoticed; Netizens Wonder If Her Role Is Chopped Off

After a string of release date announcements from Bollywood, the makers of Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre announced the arrival of their movie in the theatres. The stars from the film shared a poster from the film which included all the key members of the cast and actress Rhea Chakraborty was curiously missing.

Rhea's absence from the poster and even mention in the promotional content didn’t go unnoticed by the netizens. Soon after the release date of the thriller was announced people began discussing the reason behind Rhea being left out of the promotions despite having a key role in the film.

After Rhea Chakraborty’s name being dragged in the Sushant Singh Rajput case where she was named as the primary suspect by the late actor’s family and her subsequent arrest in a drug probe the actress’s Bollywood career took a back seat. Chehre is the only film in her filmography that was still to be released and now that it has been announced to release she’s nowhere to be seen in promotions.

Chehre is headed for a theatrical release on April 30. Interestingly, the project has been helmed by Rumi Jaffery who has been a staunch supporter of Rhea through her trials in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case and was also the person to announce last year that Rhea will be resuming work in 2021.

Last year Rumi had told Spotboye in an interview after meeting Rhea, “It has been a traumatic year for her. Of course the year was bad for everyone. But in her case it was a trauma on another level. Can you imagine any girl from a well-to-do middleclass family spending a month in jail? It has crushed her morale completely, he added, “Rhea will return to her work early next year.”
