S.S. Rajamouli On Casting Alia Bhatt For RRR: She Can Be Very Vulnerable And Resilient

SS Rajamouli has signed up Alia Bhatt for his next RRR. The film stars Jr NTR and Ramcharan Teja in the lead roles. Rajamouli is one director who is known to make larger than life films. Speaking about the shoot with Alia that got delayed, Rajamouli has been quoted in a Bollywood Hungama report as saying, “The shoot with Alia which was supposed to happen this month got cancelled due to the pandemic. We need to re-work the dates and schedules. I am looking forward to working with her.”

He further has been quoted on his keenness to work with Alia in the same report, as saying, “I need an actress who can stand her ground between Tarak (NTR Jr) and Charan (Ramcharan Teja) both of whom are extremely talented actors. She can be innocent, vulnerable yet be extremely resilient. That is the reason I went for her.”

Rajamouli further cleared the air on Alia Bhatt being cast opposite both NTR Jr and Ramcharan. He has been quoted as saying, “By the way, this is not a triangle love story. So, she is not cast opposite both the heroes.”

The director further spoke about Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn bringing a pan India appeal to the cast. He has further quoted as saying, “In a large-scale film it is very important that there is the perfect balance between art and commerce. One cannot be sacrificed for the sake of the other. Yes, it is also very good that their star status helps the pan India appeal.”
