Sajid Khan’s Wife Donated A Kidney To Late Wajid Khan After No One Came To Help, Reveals, "People Took Money From Me"

Music composer Wajid Khan’s tragic demise left the nation in shock last year. He died after suffering due to kidney related ailments for two years and being hospitalized after contacting Covid-19. The other half of the musical duo Sajid Wajid, Sajid Khan on the show Indian Pro Music League revealed that his wife Lubna had to come to his late brother’s rescue and donated a kidney to him in 2019.

In the special episode dedicated to Wajid Khan, his mother Razine and family attended the show and on stage talked about the late musician’s battle with kidney related ailments. Talking about her daughter-in-law’s generous gesture she said, “In today’s time, even parents don’t give kidneys to their kids, but she gave it without thinking twice.”

Lubna who was also present on stage spoke about why she did it, “When I heard that someone else can also donate him a kidney, I didn’t ask anyone. I just got all the tests done. Before the last test, I told Wajid everything and told him that if we’re a match, we’ll go for a transplant. He was very upset, but I told him, ‘you’re very important to me’, and that left him speechless. The person who has always stood by everyone, if his family doesn’t stand by him in his time of need, then it is very shameful. Thankfully, we were a match. Sajid, my mother, and my children were very supportive.”

Sajid Khan who will be a judge and mentor on the show said that he was scared when he heard of his wife’s decision but also incredibly proud of what she did. He tragically revealed how none of their relatives came forward to help, “At that time, none of our family members tried to help us. We had money, name, fame, and we went to the best doctors, but we couldn’t get the right match of kidney. People took money from me saying I will donate my kidney and then they disappeared. I used to wait at the airport for hours for people to come, but they’d never turn up.”

Wajid Khan died on June 1, 2020 after he suffered a cardiac arrest in the hospital. He was 47.
