Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 79th birthday in style on 11th October. Not just his family and colleagues from the industry, but the entire country showered him with blessings and birthday wishes through social media. Well, that’s no surprise because in his 52 year long career as an actor, the superstar has time and again won hearts with his spectacular performances and impeccable dialogue delivery. Even after all these years, fans can’t seem to get enough of him! However, actor and screenwriter Salim Khan feels it’s time for Big B to retire.

In a recent chat with Dainik Bhaskar, Salim shared that he feels Big B should retire now and should take some time for himself. He was quoted saying, “Amitabh Bachchan has achieved everything in his life. He should retire now and keep few years of life for himself. He has played a brilliant inning and done good work. But now it is time for him to free himself from the race. He must take a graceful retirement. And there are no stories or scripts for an actor like him now.”

The two are like a dynamic duo with many super hits to their credit, including Sholay, Don, Zanjeer and Deewaar among many others. In fact, it was Salim who in a way kickstarted Big B’s Bollywood career after seeing his acting abilities. He introduced him to filmmakers and even created the popular ‘angry young man’ character that Amitabh Bachchan beautifully portrayed on-screen.
