Sanjay Leela Bhansali Tests Negative For COVID-19; Will Resume Shoot For Alia’s Gangubai Kathiawadi Post Quarantine

Exactly a month ago on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s birthday, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt had unveiled the teaser of their much awaited period drama Gangubai Kathiawadi. It was announced that the film will hit theatres on 30^th July and fans were ecstatic. Sadly the filmmaker contracted coronavirus earlier this month and the shoot came to an abrupt halt. Well, buzz reveals that Bhansali’s latest COVID-19 test results are negative and he will return to the sets soon.

According to a report shared by Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker plans to complete his 14 day quarantine period before resuming work. A source explained, “It is the best thing to do. Sanjay doesn’t want to return until the mandatory quarantine period. He won’t even meet his mother until the period of quarantine is over. But he can see her from the balcony of his office where he’s quarantined since their residence is bang opposite and they wave to each other whenever they miss one another.”

Less than a week ago reports had suggested that the film is almost complete and just a day of shooting is left with actor Ajay Devgn, who will be seen in a pivotal role in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Post that, the filmmaker will be busy only with the patchwork and post-production. Well, we are glad Bhansali has recovered and hope to see him back in action soon.
