Sanjay Leela Bhansali to team up with Ranbir Kapoor yet again after the latter debuted in Saawariya which tanked at the box-office
The corona pandemic has brought he film industry to a halt. Everything is at a standstill right now. The shoots have been postponed, travel has been halted, newer releases not happening and things are really looking bad for the upcoming films.
Having said that, there are numerous films that are being planned at the moment, and one of them is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra.
Bollywood Hungama reported the filmmaker is in talks with Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone for the remake of the 1952 film.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Ranbir and Deepika make a pair to reckon with on-screen and Bhansali wants to create magic on-screen with the two actors. Talks are on, however, neither of the two have signed the dotted lines yet. He will work with Ranveer again in the future, but he doesn’t want to repeat the pairing of the real-life couple for the fourth consecutive time.”

Ranbir and Deepika worked together in Bachna Ae Haseeno, which was a box office flop, they had also appeared together in Tamasha which again was a box-office dud. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had worked with Ranbir Kapoor in Saawariya which was a huge disappointment to the mass and the critics alike. However, we can’t forget Ranbir and Deepika also worked together in Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani and the film was a huge success.
The source has further been quoted as saying, “These are all early talks, which started before the lockdown, but with the entire calendar of actors going for a toss, it would be interesting to see how things shape up. Though Ranbir and Deepika will make for a formidable pair in a Bhansali film.”
Just last evening, 6th May, ’20, we reported, Sanjay Leela Bhansali was set to incur a loss of Rs 15 crore because he has finally decided to demolish the Gangubai Kathiawadi set.
