Sardar Udham Singh: Amol Parashar opens up about playing Bhagat Singh in the Vicky Kaushal starrer

The talented Amol Parashar has been on an absolute roll! After winning hearts with TVF Tripling season 2, as our beloved Chitvan, and Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, he is now soaring high on the success of his latest project Feels Like Ishq, which released on Netflix. Up next, Amol will be portraying the role of legendary socialist revolutionary Bhagat Singh in Shoojit Sircar’s biographical film about Udham Singh, titled Sardar Udham Singh. He will be sharing the big screen with Bollywood’s heartthrob Vicky Kaushal, who is playing the titular role.

In a recent chat with Mid Day, Amol shared that his role is a cameo of sorts. Talking about how he interpreted the character, the actor shared, “The challenge was to discover this man from the pages of our history and lend authenticity to him. I did my interpretation of the character because playing this part comes with both, baggage and expectations. I was conscious to not copy any other actor and find my own footing. Shoojit Da briefed me right at the start that I need to play a young 21-year-old, passionate boy who is well-read.”

Amol went on to explain that it was important to humanize a revolutionary like Bhagat Singh and to do so, he read literature that he had written in his lifetime. The actor shared, “His general social commentary about capitalism, communalism and bigotry gives us a peek into his motivations.”

Well, we are quite excited to see his as Bhagat Singh on-screen!
