Shabaash Mithu: Taapsee Pannu Emphasises Why Cricketer Mithali Raj's Biopic Needs To Be Made

Actress Taapsee Pannu who is all set to play cricketer Mithali Raj on the big screen on Monday called out a tweet referring to as the latter as the ‘former’ team India cricketer. The Thappad actress pointed out how Mihtali was still the captain of the women’s team and citied such ignorance as to why exactly her film Shabaash Mithu was needed.

Replying to the tweet which was later deleted, Taapsee wrote, “You do realise she is still the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team that’s going for the upcoming World Cup. Exactly the reason why this film NEEDS TO BE MADE ! ‘Former’!!! #ShabaashMithu.”

Currently shooting for her film Loop Laptea, Taapsee is simultaneously training for Shabaash Mithu. A few videos of the actress polishing her batting skills have also found their way online. Investing her time after the shoot of Loop Latepa each day in Goa, Taapsee will continue with her cricket training till the  sports biopic goes on floors in April claim reports.  A few days of training with Mithali Raj ahead of the shoot have also been scheduled by makers.

 The movie on Mithali Raj was announced in 2019 and is being helmed by filmmaker Rahul Dholakia.
