Shahid Kapoor To Feature In Sajid Nadiadwala’s Upcoming Social Drama? Here’s What We Know

One of the most talented actors of Bollywood, Shahid Kapoor left the audience in awe with his versatile performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh. He beautifully portrayed the flawed character of a heartbroken surgeon who takes the path to self-destruction after his girlfriend, played by Kiara Advani, marries another man. Well, the actor will next shine on the big screen in the Hindi remake of Jersey, directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri. That’s not all! Shahid may also collaborate with Sajid Nadiadwala for his next.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Nadiadwala's banner Nadiadwala and Grandson Entertainment had approached Shahid for their next project a few months before the lockdown began. The actor liked the script and a verbal agreement was in place, but Shahid did not give a final nod. A source shared, “They are discussing modalities and once they agree, they will sign the contracts.”

Apparently the project will be a social drama with a socio-political angle to it. The source was further quoted saying, “It's being designed as a commercial film, which will also have an A-list heroine romancing Shahid in it. The female actress' role is little heavier than the male lead's but it's almost at par with each other. Her story drives the narrative ahead, but the political drama also has the main lead's romance as the big backdrop.” However, the report states that the production house denied the news.
