Singer Shweta Pandit Turned Mom Back In February In Italy Amid Lockdown Due To Coronavirus Scare

Singer Shweta Pandit, who had lent her voice to songs like Thug Le from Ladies VS Ricky Behl Or Madhubala from Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, has embraced a new phase in her life. She has now become a mother. The singer is currently stuck in Italy and has revealed that she welcomed a baby girl back in February.

Talking to TOI, she revealed the name of her daughter with husband Ivano Fucci and said, ““We’ve named her Izana, a name given as a title to the kind and compassionate monarchs in Ethiopia, and it means ‘most powerful’.” The couple had welcomed baby Izana back on February 8th, but she did not share this happy news because she did not ‘feel right’ to share such happy news during a world crisis. In fact, the coronavirus situation in Italy had been much worse than most other countries and Shweta shared the news now when the situation there has almost stabilized.

She also revealed the most challenging part of her motherhood and said, “The most challenging part is staying away from my own family through pregnancy and delivery. I never thought that I’d be able to take care of a newborn, but I’ve surprised myself. I’m learning a lot from my mother through video calls. My dadu (Pandit Jasraj), too, calls me every day to check on us and see Izana.”

Shweta had tied the knot with Italian film producer Ivano Fucci back in 2016. The two have been in Italy for the past six months and earlier, Shweta had revealed the horrors Italy had been facing due the spread of coronavirus.
