Is An Actor's Success On The Big Screen Directly Proportional To His Or Her Social Media Stardom?

Recently, there was a report which was based on the comparison of the numbers of social media followers between Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan. It is laughable to see how ridiculous these comparisons are because it is no surprise how the whole machinery works behind pushing these numbers on social media platforms.

Also, the basic analysis is wrong because if you compare the numbers of post and followers then the latest debutant Sara becomes the sensation, biggest star even when compared to way bigger stars like Alia Bhatt or Shraddha Kapoor.

Gone are the days when actors were being compared for their films, now in a day and age of social media, the whole imagery is being built around their social media presence.

In fact, there are PR machineries working only on increasing number of followers and pushing articles about figures related to endorsements even if the report cards of an actor’s film says a different story.

It is impossible to deny that in today’s time even the figures and numbers of a certain film or actors brand endorsement fees are exaggerated. But do these numbers really help... Only if these numbers could translate in to box office ticket sales.

The performances and films take a back seat in promotions just after the film releases and if it doesn’t fare according to the expectations, it is better to talk about other things is what the new mantra seems to be. Is it good for the time to come? only future will tell!
