Sonakshi Sinha’s Bulbul Tarang To Revolve Around Dowry System And Its Implications; Will Be Shot In UP

The gorgeous and talented Sonakshi Sinha was last seen on-screen in Prabhu Deva’s 2019 action comedy Dabangg 3, opposite superstar Salman Khan. Post that she has been winning hearts with her adorable snaps on social media amid the pandemic and has been busy with her upcoming projects. Well, one of her most awaited films is Bulbul Tarang, which is being helmed by Toilet - Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh. While not much was known about the project before, latest buzz suggests that it will revolve around the dowry system.

In a report shared by Bollywood Hungama, a source was quoted saying, “It's a social drama majorly in the satire zone that revolves around dowry and the horrific implications of the same. Sonakshi plays a carefree happy-go-lucky girl from a small town who sets out to bring a change and reform the social prejudices that exist in her town and community. It's a coming of age film and when Sonakshi was approached for the same, the actress loved the script and her role. The whole idea touched her heart and she immediately said yes to the same.”

Everything is set and the team is now waiting for the coronavirus restrictions to ease out so they can begin shoot. The source further revealed that Bulbul Tarang will mostly be filmed somewhere in UP. Other than this exciting project, Sonakshi has two other films in her kitty-- Abhishek Dudhaiya’s Bhuj: The Pride of India co-starring Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, and Reema Kagti’s Fallen alongside Gulshan Devaiah and Vijay Varma.
