Sunny Deol to return as Tara Singh in Gadar sequel, story to take him to Pakistan once again: Reports

A sequel to Sunny Deol starrer blockbuster Gadar might be on the cards. Reports are doing the rounds that filmmaker Anil Sharma is toying around with a one-line idea for Gadar 2 and if all goes well the film could go into production soon after Apne 2 which will reunite Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Dharmendra on screen.

According to Pinkvilla sources, Anil Sharma wants to send Sunny Deol’s Gadar character Tara Singh to Pakistan again. The report claims that Sunny’s character might this time be crossing the border for his son played by actor Utkarsh Sharma.

The original film’s plot is based on the backdrop of the partition in 1947 and focused on the love story of a truck driver Tara Singh who falls for a Muslim girl Sakina who hails from an aristocratic family from the other side of the border. Tara goes to Pakistan to bring back his love after revolting against her family and the country.

Anil Sharma and Sunny will reportedly first work together on Apne 2 for which the script is being finalized. The movie may go on floors in September if all works out. It is only after Apne 2 that Gadar 2 will be green lit which give the filmmaker enough time to work out the final story and put things in order.
