Sushant Singh Rajput Had Called Dil Bechara Director Mukesh Chhabra 18 Days Before His Sudden Demise

Sushant Singh Rajput was a wonderful actor and every time he shined on the big screen, he successfully managed to bring a smile on the audiences’ face. Fans absolutely adored him and are currently waiting for his final film Dil Bechara to release on Disney+Hotstar on 24th July, through which we will remember him as the superstar that he was. Also featuring Saif Ali Khan and Sanjana Sanghi, the coming-of-age romantic drama marks the directorial debut of casting director Mukesh Chhabra.

Mukesh was not only Sushant’s director, but also his friend. They met for the first time when the actor auditioned for his debut film Kai Po Che and eventually became really close. However, Mukesh did not know that Sushant was suffering from depression. In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, he shared, “I had no idea (about Sushant's depression). I wish pata hota. I just feel ki ek baar pata hota ki he's going through so much.”

Talking about the last time that he spoke to the actor, Mukesh stated, “He had personally called me up on my birthday and we spoke. We had a long chat on 27th May. He would always be there, wishing you on your birthdays, so he had called. That's about it. Because of the lockdown, he and I hadn't met for a few months. I wish I knew he was in pain.” Mukesh loved Sushant like a brother and his untimely demise has left a void in the director’s heart.

Even though he isn’t amongst us anymore, Sushant will live on in our hearts and memories forever. Rest in peace, superstar.
