Sushant Singh Rajput Slashed His Fee For His Last Film Dil Bechara, Only Took Half His Regular Remuneration; Here's Why

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death remains a mystery that the Central Bureau of Investigation is currently busy resolving. Amidst the whirlwind of speculations and questions being raised over what caused the actor’s death his last film Dil Bechara released a month ago and became a resounding success. It has now come to light that not only did Sushant agree to do the film without reading the script but also took only half of his regular fee to be a part of the project.

The M.S. Dhoni The Untold story star was a close friend of filmmaker Mukesh Chhabra who had also gotten him a break in Bollywood and thus Sushant only charged Rs. 3 crores for the film. Talking about the same a close friend of Sushant told Pinkvilla, “Sushant usually charged to the tune of 6-8 crore for each movie that he took up. But for Dil Bechara, he only charged half the money. He got a little over Rs 3 crore for the film."

The portal also reported the reason behind Sushant’s generosity were also the hurdles that the film was facing, “Dil Bechara, earlier titled Kizzie Aur Manny, took an extra year because of funding and a few internal changes that happened. So when Sushant agreed to do the film, he saw the challenges the team was facing and agreed to do it for half his fee. He also had a long standing relationship with Fox Star Studios and was in touch with the banner for a few more films. He did it just because he felt it was the most correct thing to do."

With Dil Bechara the actor’s fans bid him an emotional goodbye. The actor whose potential was still untapped in Bollywood died on June 14 in his apartment in Bandra.
