Swara Bhasker Defends Sushant's Therapist For Making Public Statement: Rich That We Should Talk Of Codes Of Conduct Now

Sushant Singh Rajput’s family has rejected the depression theory surrounding the actor’s death and booked actress Rhea Chakraborty who was apparently living with the actor till a few days before his death for abetting his suicide. Ever since Sushant’s father K.K. Singh filed the F.I.R in Patna the case is taking new twists and turns every day with many people associated with the actor sharing their versions of the truth.

While Sushant’s family might not be ready to buying the depression narrative, his therapist Dr. Susan Walker has come forward and said that the actor was suffering from bipolar disorder, and suffered bouts of depression and hypomania and Rhea was his strongest support system. The psychologist is now receiving backlash for breaking client confidentiality in a chat with journalist Barkha Dutt.

Actress Swara Bhasker has now come forward to defend support Dr. Susan’s decision to make a statement in this exceptional case as there’s a lot being said and written in the matter even as the investigation still goes on. In a tweet Swara wrote, “Before we attack this therapist abt ‘breaking professional ethical code’ etc. The disgusting Tamasha over #SushantSinghRajput ‘s tragic demise & misrepresentation & stigmatisation of #depression has driven this lady to break her silence so others don’t suffer like Sushant did!”

The actress said that all ethics were thrown out the window in this case as pictures of Sushant’s dead body doing the rounds soon after the news of his alleged suicide broke out. Swara said that the actor’s death is now being used for ‘personal vendetta & political gains’ while people should be talking about mental health instead of conspiracy theories.

In her interview with Barkha Dutt Dr. Sushan said, “In light of the misinformation and conspiracy theories currently raging on social media about Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty, I have decided it is my duty to make a statement. In my capacity as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, I met Sushant and Rhea on several occasions in November and December 2019 and communicated again with Rhea in June of this year. Sushant was suffering terribly during his bouts of depression and hypomania. Rhea was his strongest support. From the first time I met them as a couple, I was impressed by the degree of concern, love and support she showed.”
