Taapsee Paanu responded to the tweet thanking the Vice President and his family for being the first audience for their film and wrote, ‘Thank you so much sir. Such an honour to have you and your family as the first audience for our little gem #SaandKiAankh Thank you for the kind words.’ Bhumi Pednekar too shared a still from the screening and wrote, ‘Thank you Hon.Vice President sir, for watching our beloved film #SaandKiAankh and for hosting us. Thank you for giving our film love. This truly was a memorable evening with you and your family sir. Jai hind @VPSecretariat.’

Post the release of the film’s trailer, Saand Ki Aankh has been caught in the eye of storm for its casting choices with veteran actresses including Neena Gupta and Soni Razdan asking why age appropriate talents were not sought for playing the shooter dadis who are both above 60 in age. Taapsee Pannu has been defending the casting choices and even shared a note on why she did the film despite the heavy use of prosthetics to age her for her character.

The film is set for release ahead of Diwali on 25 October.
