Takht: Karan Johar’s Magnum Opus To Be Made On A Budget Of 250 Crores INR?

When Karan Johar directs a film, it becomes special automatically. He takes his own time to make films, but fans eagerly wait for his films. He had last directed Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016 and after a long gap of 5 years, he would return on the big screen with the multi-starrer Takht. The film boasts of a stellar star cast comprising of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. Moreover, since it is a period drama, the set design costs would definitely be up and fans are expecting this to be larger-than-life. Well, the budget of the film seems to be massive!

If a report by Bollywood Hungama is to be believed, then Karan is investing a whopping 250 crores on this film! A source said, "Every star Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednkar and Vicky Kaushal, is being paid his or her market price. They’d have happily taken a cut for Karan’s sake. But Karan insisted on paying them their market price."

That’s not all, it would even be costlier than Ayan Mukerji’s Bhrahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. Infact, Karan apparently insisted that Ayan reveals the release date of Brahmastra first before he shares the first glimpse of Takht. The same source said, “Karan was insistent that Ayan announces the release date of the long-delayed Brahmastra before shooting Takht. The release date for Brahmastra is now out (4 December 2020) and Karan starts shooting Takht in March 2020.”

Well, now we are even more impatient to see how Takht would turn out to be. The film will release on 24th December, 2021.
