Tanuj Virwani Opens Up On Akshara Haasan And Leaked Pictures Controversy, Says 'She Did Not Stand Up For Me Publicly'

Tanuj Virwani and Akshara Hassan had dated for four long years, but they had always kept their relationship away from the public eye. However, all hell broke loose when some very private pictures of Kamal Hassan's youngest daughter were leaked. Many thought that it might be Tanuj who has done it, though none spelled it out. Not just was it a difficult time for the Shamitabh actress, but also for the Inside Edge actor. Now, he has finally broken his silence about the entire ordeal.

Talking to Bombay Times, the actor said that he and Akshara were in a relationship for four years and had parted ways amicably. When the incident had happened, Akshara had given him a call. He said, "Those pictures were from 2013. She wanted to know if I had any knowledge about this. We kept talking after that trying to reach the bottom of this and find out who had done it. We spoke if she had ever given her phone for repair. I was very upset for her sake more than for myself. No girl should go through this. No family should go through this. It's the worst thing that can happen. I had asked her 'Akshu, do you think I've done this?' She had said, 'No, I don't think you have done it'. I had told her, 'That's all I wanted to hear'."

But he was also disappointed that Akshara had not cleared his name when it came under the scanner by the media. He added, "A lot of things started coming out in papers, things got awkward between us and we stopped talking. She may have had her reasons for that. But I was disappointed with her. She did not stand up for me publicly. She didn't say 'I did it' but she didn't say 'I didn't do it' either. That one statement from her would have made it all go away for me. Work had kicked on full-swing and I was very worried whether consequently, my work would suffer; it was a very stressful time for me. We are living in very sensitive times and luckily it got panned out; I guess the truth must have found its way."

Well, that was a tough time for both of them, but we hope that they have made peace with each other and the awkwardness has gone.
