Theatres And Multiplexes To Reopen In India From 30th June? Bollywood Fans Would Still Have To Wait

Do you remember how it felt to go to a movie theatre? Making plans with friend to watch your favourite films or to have an impromptu movie date with oneself in the nearest cinema hall or a late night outing to the theatre seems like a thing from the past. Well, the coronavirus outbreak has surely changed our way of life, but we can hope to get back the normalcy soon. In fact, the Multiplex Association Of India is hoping to reopen the theatres from June 30th.

The Multiplex Association Of India and the single theatre owners have written a letter requesting both the state government and central government to allow halls to reopen from June 30th. In fact, they have also submitted guidelines that might help to maintain social distancing there as well. According to a report in Mid-Day, there would be staggered seating with only 50% occupancy and sale of only online tickets.

But would you be able to enjoy Bollywood films like Sooryavanshi and Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai? Well, seems like that would take some more time. Halls will open with Hollywood films only, if it does. Popular exhibitor Akshay Rathi was quoted saying, “"Tenet, Wonder Woman 1984 and Mulan are slated to release between July and August. We can also collaborate with producers and take relatively smaller films like Ali Abbas Zafar's Khaali Peeli beyond the 15 big centres."

Now, we have to wait to see if at all the theatres will open by June end!
