Urmila Matondkar Talks About Revoking Article 370 In Kashmir, Says Can’t Contact In-Laws Staying In The Valley

Ever since the Government of India came up with the decision of revoking article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the already sensitive region has slipped into heightened political chaos. All sections of Indian society have had some sort of reaction to the incident and people have been worried about the populace in Kashmir given all kinds of communication in the region has been suspended.

For actress turned politician Urmila Matondkar the incident has become rather political. Urmila is married to businessman Mir Mohsin Akhtar who is a native of Kashmir and his parents still live there. In a recent interaction, Urmila revealed that she and her husband has not been able to contact her in-laws for the last 22 days. Urmila said, “My father-in-law and mother-in-law stay there. Both are diabetic, have high blood pressure. Today is the 22nd day, neither me nor my husband have been able to speak to them. We have no clue if they have medicines available at home.”

Urmila had recently contested election from the North Constituency during the last Lok Sabha election. However, she was unable to win the seat. On the professional front, she has been missing in action from Bollywood and TV for quite some time now.
