Varun Dhawan Turns Down Major Dhyanchand Biopic? Here's What We Know

Major Dhyanchand's biopic has been on the pipeline for far too long now. The film was initially to be made by Karan Johar, who had bought the rights, but with the constant delay, the rights were bought by RSVP and would now be helmed by Abhishek Chaubey. It was also being said that Varun Dhawan would be essaying the titular role. But now, it looks like he has turned down the project.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the problem was with the dates. A source was quoted saying, "RSVP approached Varun Dhawan for the movie. The script is terrific and he liked the whole plot. But the problem was that RSVP needed his dates almost immediately after the lockdown this year. He is already committed to several films and he couldn't accommodate this one, because this will need a lot of his time - for the prep and then, the shoot. So he had to decline the offer."

Varun had a pretty busy year indeed. He had shot for Jug Jugg Jeeyo and Bhediya before the lockdown happened across several states. He would also be shooting for Arun Khetarpal's biopic, Ekkis, helmed by Sriram Raghavan and Sajid Nadiadwala's Sanki. We wonder who would be a perfect choice for the hockey legend! What's your opinion?
