Varun Dhawan's Coolie No.1 To Release Days After Akshay Kumar's Laxmmi Bomb On November 13?

Box office and Diwali have gone hand in hand for several years with some of the biggest films releasing on the occasion. Well, 2020 has already established it isn’t like any other year and this Diwali we are getting two big Bollywood films but not in theatres.

Akshay Kumar finally put all rumours to rest announcing the release of his film Laxmmi Bomb pre Diwali on 9 November and now a Pinkvilla report suggests that Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan starrer Coolie No.1 might land on Amazon Prime Video on November 13, just a day before Diwali.

The release dates make it clear that the makers are trying to avoid a clash. A source tells the portal, “The decision was taken considering Akshay has always found the number [9] lucky for him, plus given his long association with Vashu Bhagnani films (Coolie No 1 producers), he wanted to avoid any clash."

Akshay is shooting for Bell Bottom in Scotland as of now which is also being produced by Vashu Bhagnani.

As far as Coolie No.1 is concerned the film had initially locked May 1 as a release date but no thanks to the lockdown it got pushed like many other projects. The film is a remake by David Dhawan of his ‘90s hit with Govinda by the same name.

Akshay’s Laxmmi Bomb will be releasing on Disney+ Hotstar.
