Back in January 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic took over the country, Karan Johar shared the first look of Shashank Khaitan’s comic thriller Mr Lele starring Varun Dhawan. However, two months later it was reported that the film has been shelved due to date issues and a while later it was announced that Varun has opted out of the project. In the end, Vicky Kaushal was roped in to play the male lead alongside Bhumi Pednekar. The film finally went on floors this year but recently came to a halt when both the actors tested positive for coronavirus.

Well, in the past few months, it wasn’t just the cast that went through a change. In a recent chat with Mid Day, Khaitan revealed, “For starters, the title is no longer the same. I have made a lot of changes in the script too. Having spent the last year at home, I ended up spending a lot of time with the material. So it’s not the same film that I had [initially conceptualised].” Talking about working with Bhumi and Vicky, he shared, “Vicky and I have done theatre together, while Bhumi and I are from the same school. So, it’s like friends coming together to create a new world.”

Thankfully, Bhumi and Vicky have now recovered and tested negative in their latest reports. However, they won’t be able to resume work any time soon because according to Maharastra government’s recent orders, shoots have been halted till 1st May. Well, let’s hope in the meantime makers reveal the new title!
