Vidya Balan has carved a niche for herself in the Hindi film industry. The actress has been working in women-driven films and nailing her performances. Now, it looks like she is all set for another biopic after Shakuntala Devi. We are talking about the biopic of Weightlifter Karnam Malleswari who had made her way to the Olympics and made India proud!

The film would be made in Telugu and reports suggest that Vidya Balan has been approached to play the weightlifter. According to a report in Pinkvilla, a source was quoted saying, "We have not approached anyone except Vidya Balan for the role and have already sent her synopsis for the film. She has shown interest but is yet to give final confirmation on it. We think Vidya is apt for this role."

The film has been on cards for quite some time now. In fact, on Karnam Malleswari's birthday, the makers had unveiled the first look poster of the film. The weightlifter had made India proud in the Sydney Olympics 2000 by bagging a bronze medal. She is also a recipient of the Rajeev Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and Padma Shri award. It would be interesting to see Vidya play a weightlifter, isn't it?
