When Karan Johar Told Aditya Chopra Not To Cast Anushka Sharma Or Ranveer Singh; Watch

Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh are currently two of the most talented and sought-after actors of the Hindi film industry. They have worked in many super hit films and their spectacular performances leave fans in awe each time they shine on the big screen. Back in 2010, the two won our hearts when they shared the screen in Band Baaja Baaraat, proving that they are here to stay. However, there was a time when filmmaker Karan Johar felt that the two did not have what it takes to be a star. In fact, he had told producer Aditya Chopra to not cast them in his film.

A short clip from Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan season 3 has gone viral on social media. In this episode, Band Baaja Baaraat co-stars Ranveer and Anushka shared the coffee couch and had a gala time chatting away with KJo. However, during one segment the filmmaker confessed that after watching Anushka’s audition tape, he had told Aditya Chopra to not take her in his film. He also revealed that Aditya had told him how Ranveer is a very good actor. But on seeing him, Karan said, “It doesn't matter, but he looks like this.”
