Yami Gautam made a stunning bride in her mother's 33 year old saree, did her own bridal makeup too

Yami Gautam’s wedding to filmmaker Aditya Dhar came as a big surprise for her fans. The couple who kept their low-key Himachal nuptials a family-only affair took social media by storm for the sheer simplicity of their wedding celebrations. As the few pictures from their wedding came out, people couldn’t help but appreciate Yami’s simple yet stunning bridal look.

The Kabil actress’s wedding look was an ode to the women in her life including her mother and two grandmothers according to recent reports. Yami wore her mother’s traditional red silk saree which is 33 years old. The outfit looked stunning with intricate gold work and was made even more alluring with the jewelry that she picked.

Yami’s traditional Himachali nose ring that turned quite a few heads belonged to her grandmother while the red dupatta that she wore with her wedding outfit came as a gift from her maternal grandmother who couldn’t join the wedding festivities according to Bombay Times. Her choker, mang tikka, and all the other gold jewelry adorned by the actress were also a family heirloom.

To top it all, Yami decided to do her own makeup for her big day and looked breathtaking.

Aditya and Yami got married on June 4 and announced it with a picture on social media writing, “With the blessings of our family, we have tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony today. Being very private people, we celebrated this joyous occasion with our immediate family. As we embark on the journey of love and friendship, we seek all your blessings and good wishes.”

The actress did oblige her fans by sharing several more picture from her wedding festivities in the days that followed.
