TV has become bigger than ever and that has also marked a huge influx of popular TV actors making it big in Bollywood. Like every year, this year also saw a massive number of TV stars migrating to Bollywood. While some met with instant box-office success, some received widespread critical acclaim and some unfortunately, went almost unnoticed.

Here are 5 popular actresses of television who made their Bollywood debut this year ranked according to the opening day box-office collection of their films.

Mouni Roy- 25.25 crores

Mouni Roy literally rules the world of television with her superhit serial Naaginn. After conquering the world of TV, this bong bombshell has set her eyes upon Bollywood and is going pretty strong at it. She made a dream Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Gold this year that opened to a bumper 25.25 crores, which is even more than some of the biggest hits of the year.

Dipika Kakkar- 1.25 crores

For about 7 years, Dipika has been one of the top five television actresses due to the unprecedented popularity of her show Sasural Simar Ka. One would have probably expected a bigger Bollywood debut for TV’s favourite Simar, but she made her debut with J.P. Dutta’s comeback film Paltan which not only opened to a disappointing collection of 1.25 crores, but totally tanked at the box-office.

Radhika Madan- 90 lakhs

She was loved by all as the ever so endearing Ishani in Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi. However, people had no idea about the seriously strong actor that she is. She made her debut this year with Vishal Bharadwaj’s Patakhaa along with Dangal girl Sanya Malhotra. The film opened to a disappointing  collection of 90 lakhs but given the widespred critical acclaim  Radhika has been receiving, we are sure she is more than elated.

Kritika Kamra- 50 lakhs

When Kritika played the character of Aarohi in Kitani Mohabbt Hai, there was hardly anyone who did not instantly fall in love with the character and her. After being TV’s darling for several years, Kritika finally made her Bollywood debut opposite Jackky Bhagnani with Mitron this year. The film elicit mixed response from people and raked in only 50 lakhs at the box-office, but Kritika’s performance mostly received positive reviews.

 Mrunal Thakur- 25 lakhs

Yet another TV actress who chose a niche film for her Bollywood debut is Mrunal Thakur a.k.a. Bulbul of superhit show Kumkum Bhagya. Mrunal made her debut with Love Sonia which raked in a rather measly 25 lakhs on its opening day. However, we are sure that for Mrunal an opportunity to work with stellar actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Richa Chadda and Freida Pinto meant much more than box-office collection. Plus, her next film is Super 30 opposite none other than Hrithik Roshan which will, for sure, take care of her box-office woes.
